Teaching and Learning 2 - Child and Adolescent Development
This unit builds on Teaching and Learning 1: Essential Learnings providing a foundation knowledge to help us understand and respond to situations in the course of designing, delivering and evaluating learning experiences. This unit has an associated professional experience of ten days that is spent in a school.
Purpose of the unit: this unit focuses on child and adolescent development. The unit covers the interplay among biological, cognitive, social and ecological influences within each developmental domain, and on development from one chronological period to another to build a holistic picture of maturation. Assessments in this unit aim to link the associated period of in-school professional experience with child development theory and practice to enable further development of teaching and learning strategies.
Learning outcomes:
Teaching and Learning 2 tasks are designed to provide an opportunity to accumulate evidence of progress towards meeting the Professional Standards for Graduating Teachers.
